W39 Bistro & Bakery Cafe - Advanced Birthday Celebration

What makes a good start of the day?
If you were to ask me, i would probably answer you this.
A motivating morning definitely comes with a warm cup of coffee/tea.
.
.

Recently, i had the opportunity and time to visit W39 cafe which i spend one month delaying the trip (opps but yay~)
It has been on my mind for quite sometimes to take a short trip down to Jalan Mas Puteh and try their popular menu.
The reason why it took so long for me to go there was simple, it was on the other end of Singapore and the travelling time is just so tiring. Despite all these, the meals prepared was awesome and i had a really great time there. I even tried a new type of dish which would never cross my mind hahaha:p

Sadly, the interior design was not like how i imagine it would be and was smaller than i had expected (opps)
On the other hand, the ambiances was great and the furniture are just so cute^^ in the way that they designed it in a 90s retro inspired style.
Also, i feel that having a small library corner is a fantastic idea in a cafe!! i mean for people who do not know what to do with the day and wish to kill time outside, they can just order something simple and read a book.

However, the outside was much more spacious and is an ideal place to do your studying!! ( Yes. The place is quiet and kinda ulu ulu? But trust me, there will be no one to disturb your precious studying time)

Flat White at $4.50
The coffee was quite ordinary? didn't really left me an impressionable taste?
*A* plus point for the heart though hehehe

* i don't quite like this photo because i look old and ugly here...;( *
I MEAN MY FACE LOOK SO PLUMP HERE?! AND THE SMILE ARGHH
#should have sleep earlier the night before?!

Parma Ham Toast at $11.90
This dish is simply just amazing. The truffle oil goes especially well with the ham and cheese. Paired together with the tomato and toasted bread *bang*
The overall taste doesn't leave me feeling so oily or disgusted, instead it was the opposite. Everything tasted so healthy that i was tempt to order a second hahaha except that the price didn't made me ask for more hehehe.

Ribeye Steak at $28.00
My friend ordered their steak and i asked to have a bite of it. The meat was so soft and juicy, when dipped into their home-made sauce *wah la~* you will be satisfied for the rest of the day.
The combination was even nicer when you wrap a small bite of the beef with their vegetable, maybe it is just me? This dish is definitely worth the try for beef-lovers.
(got the idea to wrap meat with veg from eating korean bbq:)

Overall, the experience there was comfortable. Would i make a second trip? Probably not, looking at how i need to take a taxi ride or wait for the bus. Still, it was worth for a one-time trip haha:)

A meal at Andong Zzimdak - Belated Blessed Birthday Celebration

2nd Blessed Birthday Celebration

A simple meal at Andong Zzimdak.
Located at the basement 1 of City Hall Raffles Shopping Mall.

.
.

Just like most of our usual outing, my bestie and i would go all around Singapore hunting for food to eat.

My 18th celebration with her was a simple one because debby was busy during the month of February, we just decided to settle down for a meal.
Before the meal, i was complaining non-stop about how bad i felt for having her treating me to a birthday meal because i didn't know what i would like for my birthday present? haha and i thought it might be better for her to save up money before her poly school reopens (yay;)

( hopefully i have some ideas by the following year haha)
Radish and Kimichi.
The radish was sweet while on the other hand, i would have preferred if the kimichi was less sour haha

Steam Egg
the strong flavor of sesame oil used? was the enhancing taste of this dish.
It is definitely worth the price paid for and worth the try, would recommend this dish if anyone do visit this korean store. #oiishi

Karrage
This is the 2nd recommend dish from me.
The skin of the chicken is super crispy and crunchy,
every single bit would leave you a irreplaceable impression. It does goes well with the honey mustard sauce however i like the karrage best at its original taste.

Cheese Tteokbokki
Not my cup of tea haha, but is perfect for cheese lovers and those who are afraid to eat spicy food. Would have preferred if they were daring enough to cook it real spicy :(

Our visit in the afternoon was peaceful hence those who are seeking to have a silent meal for lunch, this place might just be the perfect venue for you amongst the crowded city life.

#definitely a bad hair day haha

Really thankful to have her in my life!!
Thank you for the delicious treat hehe
#blessed; couldn't ask for more^^

Ended the birthday date with deborah at Esplanade taking photos.

18th Blessed Birthday - Reasons to be thankful

Every year when my birthday arrives, i don't put much thoughts into wanting to celebrate this so-called "special day". I mean who cares if i am having my birthday? I have tests to study for, cca to attend to and most of the time, no cakes to celebrate with me back at home (cause i am too old for cakes?)...

Just in case, anyone is curious muhahha, i am offically a free person because i have already graduated from my secondary school last year (yeppie horray!) Back to my post hahah

Worse birthday? probably never but i got the worst comment when i was 17 (studying for sec5 o's) it was from the "new cca teacher in-charge". She was super arrogant and was being an ultimate asshole. (trust me, i dont usually use vuglar words but i can't help it...anyways we can get back to this in the later dates haha)

However coming to the age of adulthood 18.

I began to think differently regarding birthday celebration. For the first time, i honestly wanted to have a good celebration between my friends and families. Although it was not like those fancy celebration and how i had imagine it would be haha but i supposed it could be considered a quite memorable one.

We met up at the station in the late morning and grab a cab to marina barrage (yay richkid99 i'm just joking) the entire ride was fun and we had many small talks.

After a long ride we head straight to our picnic venue and began my little birthday celebration.

#teamgeek ; yes i wear glasses haha

surprised with a bottle of apple cider because i had turned 18 wooh~

was getting slightly bored so we started playing various card games.

birthday present <3 thank you ladies!!

.
.

Reasons why to be thankful for birthday celebration:

1. You can't turn back time, and you will only be a particular age for once in your entire life. No one can be eighteen for a second time, hence we must all learn to be appreciative of growing old.

2. Despite how difficult life treats you, or how harsh the environment you live in. Everyone is born for a reason, a purpose. Don't ever doubt for existence.

3. You have friends and family who care dearly for you regardless of your mistakes, imperfections.

I believe there are many more reasons why we should be thankful but i will stop with three.

Dofu: Vegan Black Soya Ice Cream & Pudding - IN SINGAPORE

Are you surprised? Because I am.
Never in my life, i have ever thought VEGETARIAN ice-cream was a possible creation.
But, i guess i was wrong. Time and efforts has proven that it was possible.

It was the first week of January, when i was scrolling through my Instagram on a peaceful afternoon. The fated moment where i came to learn about DOFU(tofu hahah) through an sponsored advertisement.

Black Soya Ice cream? i read. In my mind, i was like " gotta try this out man."
Been a fan of black soya since i can remember probably cause of the first Korean black soya drink i had hohoho~

There are variety of toppings for you to choose from! Certainly not losing out to any famous yogurt ice-cream stores you know!!

Of course, being me~ i have chosen the oreo as my topping for it is one of my favorites.
The taste? well, simply fantastic and real fancy. However, I would have preferred if they were not too stingy when they are giving the toppings. Because the topping was only surrounded the ice-cream which in this case, i would slightly prefer llao llao as they are more generous in their toppings!

I absolutely loved the idea where the black soya pudding and ice-cream was a paired combination. Honestly, who the hell would be so creative as to come up with that?! (definitely not me hoho)
The combination was just great. Not too sweet, everything was so well-balanced.

Usually, for me, eating ice-cream was something i would cross out of my mind because of the after feel of guiltiness for eating high in sugar food.
However, Dofu menu tasted really healthy to me and there was no leftover feelings of guilt for eating it.

What i love second was their service attitude. definitely would love to give them a 10/10.
The lady worker who served me was extremely friendly and nice. With such lovely earnest workers, it really makes one wants to come back for more! Honestly, having good servicing attitude towards customer is one important point i look out for. hahaha, i guess i am giving out too much praises.

In terms of price, they are affordable:) and definitely worth the price you pay for!! The above menu is what i had screenshot from their fb webpage, do give it a try yahh!!
A heads on before you buy~ with pudding it will be slightly more expensive!! ranging around $7++

HAHA have you become a fan of Dofu after reading my blog post so far?
You can now consider getting a membership on your first buy at just $12. (if i didn't remembered wrongly hoho)
All payment will be deducted from there on! How convenient is it?
So fear not, you can return for more and pay for your second trip using the card you got <33 hehe. Healthy vegan black soya ice-cream, perfect as a sweet treat after a day workout or long day in school~

Hope you will share your little support to them soon:) by paying them a visit!!

Dofu is truly one of the most unique ice-cream store i have ever come across, standing right at the end of the bus interchange. It was quite a "ululu" walk there for bus interchange does not seems like a popular venue to start up an ice cream outlet hahha.

Considering the fact that there are numbers of unconquerable competitors such as llao llao, Yummy Yogurt, Sogurt, Honey Creme in Singapore? Still, trust me Dofu is as good as these famous well-knowns.

How to get there?

Yishun Temporary Bus Interchange,
20A Yishun Central,
#01-05, 768830.

*Take the MRT Train to Yishun and walk underpass to get into the shopping mall. Exiting at the Hongkok Eatery, cross the road over to the bus interchange and turn right.

Last day of 2016.

Many of you (i assume) probably have never put in much thoughts, thinking about "how i should spend the last day of a particular year?"
other then celebrating countdown with friends and family members.

Instead, we're always unconsciously worrying about the future that hasn't yet arrive.
On the last day of every year, i realized many are stuck in a continuous cycle (including myself.)
Coming up with new promises and resolutions. For the reason of wanting to become a better someone, lead a better life or to make themselves feel better? so on and so forth.

That was me until recently, on every last day of the year...Always thinking and worrying about how i should spend my following year.
However, coming into the first day of 2017 my first thought was "nothing in particular has change..because i still see the same old me just in a different year."  Like how i kept my routine the same, wasting every second of my time each day not working towards my dream.

Let's be honest here. Looking back to all the years when we start making promises to ourselves.
How many promises, goals or resolution we said we would find all ways to accomplish and stay bulletproof to all kinds of distraction. In actual, manage to do so. ( If you know of some ways, please email me and tell me how.)
I dont know about you, but in 2016 i know i have definitely lose track of my true goal in the process of trying to achieve it.

All in all, we got no one else to blame but ourselves for not being firm enough in our resolution. Constantly, procrastinating and allowing our bad habits to get ahead of us and give in to the devil temptation we were supposed to resist.

It is already the 4th week of January 2017, i don't feel like an "improved version from 2016". I mean even i-phone is continuously upgrading themselves while on the other hand, i feel degraded each year *sigh*
To add on, i am always coming up with excuses to make myself feel better...
Saying things like i'm still searching for ways on how to stop being LAZY?
When the answer can in fact, be found if we would just sit down and self-reflection, then decide what action to take and become more discipline.

(this post is a good example of my procrastination which was supposedly to be upload on the last day of 2016 but failed to do so.)
.
.

Dear readers, you probably can tell by now that i'm tired of making meaningless promises, keeping the same old routine and not taking control of my life by changing for the better.

Coming into 2017 made me realized the millions of meaningful things i had missed out on or could have done on a daily basis previously.

Hopefully, before 2018 comes next year...
On the final day of 2017 everyone including myself would be able to spend our day meaningfully.
Ensuring that it was a memorable one year that is worth moving on, to the next year. A one year which i or the rest of us wouldn't have to go back and reflect on what could have been better over and over again.
Because till now, 2016 has left me with much regrets;')

Therefore, a challenge for myself and everyone.
1. Get yourself a notebook and start writing reflections
2. Keep track of your progress no matter how small it is
3. No regrets
4. Plan how you want to make your last day of 2017 celebration a meaningful one
Hopefully, new healthy habits will be develop along the coming months and the bad habits will be thrown away.
