Graduating for the second time?!

HELLO!

O level examination was over quite sometimes ago and now we are coming in to the December? i guess i am just filled with mixed feelings...

I have to agree that time really passes in a blink of an eye.
Before my o's examination even begin, i was prepared to make many sacrifices and told myself that i will keep to my promises ,also, would do nothing to allow others to distract myself from the road to success.
Guess what happened in the end? i just made myself become stress over many unnecessary small happenings which includes daily life, food, etc.

I do not even know what was going through my mind in 2016?
Thinking back, i felt that it was honestly a stupid decision to just focus solely on my academics and give up on my hobby for like the past 11 months? Because you know, stress can backfire hahah which it kinda did for my case...

i literally went to read light novel for my entire June holiday, and when i return back fir a new semester after that short one month break, i had a tough time trying to catch up with everyone!!!!
To add on, before holiday even started, i already took a short reality escape to Japan (will update a post about it soon!) gosh AHAH but it was fun times

YAY Olevel is over anyways~ i should stop hanging onto the past haha.
.
.

Yume Graduating for the SECOND TIME?!

As some of you might already be aware of, i am an normal academic stream student haha, and yes i took the five years route to complete my Olevel examination.

I still remember when i was in lower secondary, i used to study really hard hoping that i could maybe get into the express stream? sadly it didn't happen HAHAHA i was short of 3marks to get into the express stream though~ but i guess it was god's will so i am fine with it;-))

However, on the other side, being the senior of my school,we were entitled to many privileges which includes studying in an air-conditioned environment every single day for all classes (except for the sciences) WOOAHH HOW COOL IS THAT?! #blessed #everystudent'sdream

Hoshino Coffee

Hello!
Feels like years since i last updated my blog haha, anyways,
Olevel examination has finally come to an end ( which was like few weeks back?)

Visited Hoshino Coffee cafe the other day with my tomodachi, Siying and had a sumptuous meal there.
As a cafe lover, how could we missed out? like going to such a popular japanese cafe? haha

Sadly, we didn't get to try the pancakes we wanted to ,but, we are planning for another return trip to this cafe~

There are various outlets of Hoshino Coffee Cafe in Singapore, but we went to the nearest one which was located at Suntec City Mall at level one.

I really like their vintage furniture, it made me felt like i was back to the 90s?

.
.

While waiting for our food to be served~
hence selfie haha
YESSS I AM WEARING SPECTACLES now ;(((((( sighhh

One of the all times favorites~
French Toast topped with whipped cream, so the whipped cream kinda cheated my feelings because when i first saw it, i assumed that they was so nice to serve vanilla ice cream with the toast. But i was so wrong about it.

Overall, the taste itself was honestly delicious~ i really like how they pair honey with french toast, it really helped emphasis on the sweetness which was perfect for me because i love to eat sweets. It definitely would have been better if they was so kinda to top vanilla ice cream as the topping instead of whipped cream~

We also ordered the Fruit Tea,
the tea itself was really stress reliving and i felt really alive after drinking it, would definitely love to drink more of it haha
maybe i should learn how to make this tea myself~

.
.

Afterwards, i had the time to walk around and then, i came across this japanese snack store? where i bought this green tea candy.
I must say, the candy was suigoku oiishi kata! ( amazing tasty!)
my ratings 10/10 <3

Dinner Time~
Some how after walking around for quite sometimes, we ended up inbetween Esplanade and Suntec City.

At this Korean Restaurant, we ordered the korean rice? which i had forgotten what it was called haha
The food tasted like LITERALLY extremely healthy, which made me craved for more of the spicy chicken. i wished that they had given more of the chicken than the vegetables? hahaha

That's all for my post~
Thank you for sticking around and reading my short update <3 *muacks*

Kyushu Pancake Cafe - A Japanese Based Cafe IN SINGAPORE

A popular pancake delight based from a Japanese Cafe is now in SINGAPORE~ Established since the 2012, Presenting you a combination of fresh fruits and dairy product from Kyushu, bringing you on a journey of unique experience with extraordinary taste.

In case, you have not heard the news!!
Kyushu Cafe had their official opening on the 11 May 2016

Satisfied your cravings by:
calling up their cafe for reservation or head down to the cafe.
Because you wouldn't want to miss out on trying out the variety of uniquely pancake cuisines and enjoy the well-designed interior that display a sense of classiness and coziness

*Ningen(human) photobomb*

Part of the interior*
Don't you agree that it looks rather lovely? haha
Anyway today was so horrible because it was raining so heavily that my friend and i had to get disposable raincoat (which costed at $1.80each *sob*)

Still, i believe that it was worth the trip and wait~
Been waiting anxiously for about a month? just to try their pancakes, and i'm so glad that my friend and i decided to make the trip down even with the heavy rain pour~

Additionally, just a personal view,
i feel that this cafe is a great place to catch up with your friends and
a relaxing environment for you to kill the sinful amount of time on your hand?
.
.

This is just a photo of the few most popular cuisine in the menu.
You can check out the entire menu when you are at the cafe~
If you are wondering, it isn't just limited to pancake itself? there are other cuisines to choose from such as waffle, french toast so on and forth.
.
.

 Berry-Licious Pancake

This cuisine is a combination of berries varying from raspberry to blueberry and strawberry. Finally, with a scoop of home-made Kyushu ice-cream and berry sauce.

The fateful moment when i saw "strawberry" i knew that this was my choice.
Personally, i have a craze over strawberry as it is one of my favorite fruit haha.

Well, describing the taste, i would say it was exceptionally delicious. The sauce wasn't very sweet, and was very appetizing. i also love how it goes so well when eating it together with the pancake which i thought tasted rather light and fluffy but not bland.

Yes, the fruits was absolutely fresh! but i was rather disappointed with the strawberry because i expected a more high graded strawberry to be served like the once from Japan? i mean i don't mind paying more for the strawberries?

However, i would definitely return for more in the future, looking forward to try out the rest.
.
.

Matcha MontBlanc

This cuisine has the theme Matcha aka green tea.
It is a 3 layer pancake, so it tasted rather thick and creamy with the matcha cream?
Surprisingly, the taste was better than i had expected. When i tried the matcha cream, it had a weird sensation in my mouth overall the balance between the pancake and the cream tasted alright? i suppose haha
Just a personal opinion of mine again HAHA, i felt that the pancake would have taste nicer if there was some fruits included?

Ouh to end off with, one of the most funny moments at the cafe was that my friend thought that the Matcha MontBlac was made of matcha noodles to be match with the pancake (haha omg) *facepalm*

Yume's First Japan Trip / DAY ONE & TWO

Can you believe that it was amidst the most important and hectic time of my life when I decided to risk it all and go on a short trip?

Yes, it was the year of my O'level examination. My first paper is scheduled to be in the following month, April. When I bought my first plane tickets to Japan.

Well, you might think that I am crazy for even having the thought to travel overseas when I am supposed to focus on the upcoming paper that would somehow or somewhat determine my entire life?

You might think I am further exaggerating when I mentioned entire life?

If you think it logically, the school and course you choose to pursue in polytechnic or junior college would highly determine your career path and the standard of lifestyle you wish to have? Provided one does well in his/her O's and get into their desired school and course of his/her choice.

So pretty much, everyone who knew me deemed me as an incomprehensible being when I decided to gamble my future by sacrificing that one week instead of studying.

But, well who gets to tell me what to do, other than myself right?

In the washroom before flight!!

Meanwhile, myself got praised by two Korean guys for looking like a Korean (yay~)

Also, my cousin and I had Subway before the flight!! because we're famished.
.
.

Inside the waiting area for the plane arrival,
we had nothing to do, therefore, SELCA TIME~
-
In flight.

View from the window.

Yessssssuuu, SUPPER!! was already feeling hungry when our saviour finally made an entrance.

The food was not bad!! Chicken meat was slightly on the sweeter side because of the yellow sauce>w<

What's late night movie without dessert right??
Happy girl because they gave me my favourite, Strawberry ice-cream <3

That's all for the first night!! Time for us to rest by take our little nap~
.
.

Having woke up from our short nap.

We had a short stopover at Hongkong~ yayyy~
Food provided by the Japan Airline.

DAY TWO

Finally arrived at Kansai Airport, we then took the terminal train.
A beautiful view from the train window.
-
The first place we head to upon arrival was the information centre.
At the information counter service, we made our purchases for the necessary survival for the following week.
.
.

Our bus tickets
The view outside the airport, waiting for the bus services.
.
.

More scenic beauty of Japan.

AIRBNB CHECK IN
Heading to our next destination would be finding our apartment!!
Following would be a few snapshot showing off the apartment we booked.
Little snacks provided by the apartment owner.

Corn Chips

Chocolate Corn Biscuit.
A full view mirror
.
.

FOOD HUNT / LUNCH
As a hungry duo, my cousin and I went food hunting after placing all our stuff at the apartment.

The first restaurant we came to was called ANAGAKI.
Inside the shop, we had trouble placing order as we couldn't read Japanese character at all HAHA ( its embarrassing but i can only speak the most basic japanese but i can't read at all )

UNAGI!!! It was so authentic and tasted real amazing!!
The best part was the miso soup, loved it so much!!
Tempura meal set.
.
.

NEXT UP: FOOD HUNT / DESSERT
Dessert hunting was our next food hunt destination.
YESSSS, ITS CREPE!!
Strawberry icecream cheese cake crepe!! <3
In comparison to the ones sold in Singapore. This crepe from Japan tasted 100% way better.
That's because the crepe texture is soft and easy to chew and it has a great combination with the toppings. A taste of heaven for sweet tooth lovers <3

Meanwhile, the crepe sold in Singapore, often taste overly crisp or burnt? and the topping isn't as (大方) generous? Well, I don't mean to flame my country's crepe but they really need to up their games?

THE CREPE WAS SO GOOD!! Words cannot describe or emphasise how delicious this crepe was.
-
Satisfied with all the food we had. We decided to go for a walk and looked around as to what they have around the station. Done with the window shopping. It was time to find our way to the next destination.
OSOMATSU!!!!!! I WAS FREAKING EXCITED UPON SEEING THE POSTER!!
Wanted to bring the poster back so much.
#ICHIMATSU IS BESTBOI

GETTING TO DONTONBURI.
Moving on to our afternoon travel destination...
I REALLY NEED TO RANT about my bad experience. :((

Basically, we spent an entire hour walking from station to station just to find the supposed train or direction we are required to take to get there.

The first stationmaster we seek for help was from the Midosuji Line, and apparently, my cousin was speaking to him in ENGLISH.

The reason was that the station masters were all too stubborn to even provide proper direction or help us out because we're foreigners and not locals.
It only worked out in the end when I attempted at speaking broken Japanese to the station master at Midosuji after walking an hour round and returning back to the starting station.

Didn't had a great experience at midosuji but it was okay! I wouldn't let this one bad experience cloud my judgement for the rest of the days in Japan ^^
.
.

Inside the station toilet. I took some full body shot hehehe
-
At Dontonburi
It was still the early afternoon so the district wasn't very crowded and the atmosphere was rather friendly;)

The lanterns displayed as part of the store design was extremely eye-pleasing so I took photos of it!!
Along the crowded street.
.
.

GETTING TO : SPA WORLD
To get to the location, we were required to walk passed the crowded street and climb a bit of stairs to come into this view, as shown in the photo taken below.
Upon entering this sight, we continued down the almost empty path.
In the middle, there is an enterance to the popular spaworld.
The enterance!!
Then, we bought ourselves a ticket into the spa heaven~
High recommend everyone who goes to Japan to experience the public bath. It is not just relaxing, also, the spa helps to cure one's fatigue after a long day.

You can see my face glowing after coming out from the spa.
A non-edited photo of my backview !!
.
.
NEXT UP:
we stopped by a takoyaki shop as we were getting hungry!!
THE TAKOYAKI SIMPLY TASTED BEYOND OUR EXPECTATION!!
IT WAS SO GOOD!! TOTEMO OIISHI DESU!!
#non-edited takoyaki upclose photo.
p.s. for the poor lighting

TRAVELLING FOR FOOD / DINNER
Inside the train.
The structure and design is extremely different in comparison to the train in Singapore. The sofa design are of fabric whilst, the seats in Singapore are mainly made using solid mixture of plastic.
The most impressive part of the train would be the map. If you haven't realise, on the top left hand corner, there is a small television displaying the visions of the stations as the train travel. Which is not seen available in Singapore.

FOOD HUNTING / DINNER
Alighted from the train, we went out to the local streets.
A huge mall infront of the traffic crossing.
The animal plate were extremely cute so I had to take a photo!!

 The Kabuki Theatre.
.
.

At a certain Oknomiyaki Store
The queue was rather long so my cousin and I decided on this store!!

 The fake food sample!!
Bullet tin board displaying photo of the store's menu.
The entrance.
A selfie of us taken outside the store while waiting!!
After a long wait, there was finally a table!!
Meanwhile, the group of people seating behind my cousin was having a goukon HAHAHAH
Menu in English version.
The oknomiyaki was rather average? The sauce was on the saltier side however, the pairing with the plain vegetable turned out to be a good combination.

However, in terms of my own preferrence, the food wasn't to my taste.
The yakisoba tasted rather normal than I had expected? Overall, the food tasted was alright!
