Juchheim || Takashimaya

みなさん、こんにちは!
(( Minasan, kon'nichiwa! ))

Have you been looking forward to today's entry as much as i do? haha i hope you did! if you are following me on my social network, i bet you must have seen the photo i uploaded last night at 11pm+ , if you haven! do follow me; @Yumegeolin_ now;-)

What's today entry all about?
Food again? Yup haha.
"Baumkuchen Cake" which chinese/malay call it as "Kueh Lapis."
.
.

I'm going to introduce one of my favorite cake, that goes perfectly well for any occasion (e.g. when you invite guest to your house; teatime. )

You must be having thoughts like " what makes this particular baumkuchen cake so special?"

I'll be answering that question later!
Well, earlier today, i read up about baumkuchen cake and did some research on it, and..

I found out that the origin of this cake was from Germany, a traditional German cake. It is known as “Der Konig der Kuchen” (“The King of Cakes”) in Germany, sounds so cool haha
and is also used as the symbol of the German Confectionery Association.
(( I know it might be boring for me to share all these but, it great to learn more things!))

Basically,

Karl Juchheim was the first German confectioner ! To bake this baumkuchen in Japan.[ omg \(*w*/) ] although idk who he is HAHA
Why does he kinda look like hilter..hmmm...HAHA LOL.

Okay actually you can read up at ;

.
.
One of the main outlet is located in Singapore, Orchard-Takashimaya.

*Does not own this picture*

This is how the shop looks like, so vintage and Germany feel, i like it!
[ Actually the original photo didn't look that nice *oops* haha so i added "some" filter to make it looks nice ahaha (@w@)/ ]

The back of the shop, it is a open window kitchen where you can see how the chef bakes the cake ~awesome ya~
you can visit the shop sometime and *stare* at how the chef bakes, it is really cool and interesting, it kinda inspire me to become a confectioner as well hehe.
(( if you stare too much later the chef thought u have feelings for them or something HAHA, i am just joking okay! )

In fact, when i was younger i did dreamt of becoming one though! sounds so unrealistic but that is because i personally really love sweets, and sweets always never fail to bring a smile to people who are feeling upset.

Sweets has the power to bring happiness and
confectioner are the ones who make these sweets,
able to bring a smile on other's people faces is actually one of the thing that a chef is proud of.

I still remember when i bought the cake yesterday while waiting for my senior to get the baumkuchen cake ice-cream,
i was greeted with a friendly smile from the lovely Japanese chef lady.
She was really nice and pleasant, i think the guy who is her boyfriend is definitely bless haha.

I actually spoke Japanese with her last night, it was a unforgettable memory for me, at first i was really shy and i doubt myself about how well i could speak as I've only spoken Japanese with a few of my friends before and once during the #NatsuMatsuri (Which i have yet to update, gonna update this week!) , however that didn't stopped me from trying.

She was so nice to even speak Japanese back with me as well.
I am still feeling excited, even now i remember what she said hehe,
"Anata ga nihongo o benkyō shite iru?
[ あなたが日本語を勉強している?] = are you studying Japanese?
And she it was also very nice of her to give us a cookies as topping, because it wasn't even part of the order!

i kinda regretted for not gathering up my courage and ask her for a photo!
Then again, i am glad that i had the courage to say " Sayonara;さようなら " to the gorgeous chef before leaving.
This coming week, when i am going back to Orchard again and if i see her, i'll surely gather up my courage to ask her for a photo ( i hope) sighh...she was truly a beautiful chef omgg..
.
.

Highly suggest that everyone buy one to try!
With assurance, certainly worth the money to buy, the price is according to the size and the service is excellent too.

As i had mentioned earlier,
" What is so special about this cake?"
It is the looks or taste?
The answer is simple, it is both of them.
The packing is so vintage and sweet, i really love how it is being design, not only that,
the moment you open it,
you can see how fine the cake looks like.
When you touch the cake, it is as soft as a pillow, the bright light yellow with layers and coated with sugar on the outside, it is simply well-made.

The taste of the cake, is satisfying to your tongue ( for those who loves to eat cakes. )
compared to the type of kueh lapis you usually have outside, it doesn't taste dry, oily or sugary. On the other hand, it will makes you want to come back for more, and i mean it.

The fragrant, is sweet-smelling, absolutely doesn't smell yucky.
Can't wait to get the cakes again this coming week!

I shall share the few nicest photo i took yesterday!
As usual, i edited quite a few version.
